Climate and Biodiversity

Chippenham Town Council is committed to becoming a net carbon zero organisation by 2030. We aim to reduce our environmental impacts, move to a more circular economy and to manage our land to help increase biodiversity. We want to work with our residents to help them reduce their emissions and ecological impacts too.

In April 2025, we received the results of our carbon footprint appraisal for 2023-24, which showed a reduction in our market-based carbon emissions of over 10% from our previous assessment.

Our emissions have significantly decreased by the replacement of LPG heating at Stanley Park with a heat pump and solar panels.

We will continue to explore ways that we can reduce more emissions in the future to achieve our commitment to be net carbon zero as an organisation by 2030.
