Community Civic Awards
Each year, Chippenham Town Council presents Community Civic Awards (formerly Civic Awards) to individuals or local groups for services to the Town and people of Chippenham.
We are now launching the 2026 Civic Award Scheme and welcome applications to recognise those who have gone above and beyond during 2025.
This year, the awards are split into categories:
Community Civic Awards: 2x individual and 2x organisation
Young Person’s* Community Civic Awards: 1x individual and 1x organisation
*Up to the age of 18 or 25 with SEND.
The nominees need to be individuals or local groups who have fulfilled at least one of the following criteria recently.
• Made a material contribution to the advancement, well-being, and welfare of the people of Chippenham
• Supported charitable work carried out in the Town
• Assisted the work of the Town Council in a voluntary capacity
• Demonstrated outstanding citizenship.

Civic Awards are presented at our Civic Sunday event which will take place in July 2026.
The closing date for submission of nomination forms is Saturday 28 February 2026. We look forward to receiving as many nominations as possible.

We have reduced our carbon emissions from our activities and services by 28.7% since 2019, according to our latest appraisal, covering 2024–2025.
Since we began measuring our emissions, we have made a number of changes to reduce our impact on the environment. These include replacing the LPG heating at Stanley Park with a heat pump and solar panels, switching to renewable energy suppliers, installing more energy-efficient heating and lighting, improving insulation in our buildings, and beginning the transition to electric vehicles and HVO fuel.
These measures form part of our Climate Action Plan, which sets out how we will achieve our commitment to become a net carbon zero organisation by 2030.
There is more work to do. Our next assessment will include further reductions from replacing gas heating at the Town Hall and Neeld Community & Arts Centre with heat pumps, helping us to remove fossil fuel heating from our buildings.
We will continue to look for practical ways to reduce our carbon emissions and make our services and buildings more sustainable.
