Christmas Lights Switch-On
The Christmas lights switch-on will take place on Saturday, 29 November with a fun-filled day of live music, entertainment, and festive fun.
The main stage in Market Place will host live music, there will be a festive market, and lots of family entertainment with street theatre and fun walkabout characters. Chippenham Museum will have creative activities and the Yelde will host a Christmas craft market.
This year we have 2 snow globes, and Santa will abseil into town at 4.55pm to turn the lights on at 5pm.

We’re looking for a Groundsperson/Street Operative to join our Environmental Services team.
Full time | £28,608 – £30,023
Working across our parks, open spaces and streets, you’ll play an important role in keeping the town clean, tidy and well maintained throughout the year.
The role includes a variety of seasonal and general duties, including grass and hedge cutting, tree work, horticultural and grounds maintenance, street cleaning, litter collection and bin management.
It’s a varied, practical role where no two days are necessarily the same. A driving licence is required.

One week to go until the Pumpkin Patch returns to the Market Place with 400 FREE pumpkins.
Open from 10am, you can come and choose your special pumpkin to take home and carve, ready for the spooky celebrations.
Pumpkins will be available on a first come, first served basis, so make sure to head down early to avoid disappointment.
This year, we are lucky enough be joined by some magical characters from Beauty and the Beast, the pantomime heading to the Neeld Community & Arts Centre this December. They will be there between 10am - 10.45am before visiting Chippenham Cinema, Chippenham Library and Chippenham Museum.
