Our team of over 40 volunteers support the service we provide in a number of ways from welcoming visitors, to caring for the collection and assisting with events and education sessions. We welcome applications to join our volunteer team throughout the year.

Visitor Welcome Volunteer

Our largest team, our Visitor Welcome Volunteers are the face of Chippenham Museum welcoming visitors, taking payments in our shop and stewarding exhibitions. This role is also based at the Yelde Hall during the summer and for certain exhibitions. We are particularly seeking volunteers who are available on Friday’s, but welcome applications from all.

Collections & Research
Currently full
Our Collections and Research volunteers help us to care for our collection, by cataloguing objects and undertaking research. This is a back of house role and requires the use of computers.
Engagement & Events
Currently full
Our Engagement volunteers support the delivery of our events programme in a number of ways including supporting family activities, giving guided walks and assisting with evening events.
