At a meeting of Full Council on 07 January 2026, the Leader of the Council, Councillor Desna Allen introduced a report, which the Director of Finance (Responsible Financial Officer) presented to Council regarding the Income & Expenditure and Capital/Ear Marked Funds budgets for 2026/27 for consideration and adoption, and for Councillors to agree the Precept for the next financial year.
Full Council discussed the options enclosed in the report and agreed to adopt the Income & Expenditure Budget for 2026/27 and approved that a Precept of £4,712,659 be raised for 2026/27.
For the forthcoming financial year 2026/27 the Precept cost for a Band D household will be £342.15 per annum which is an increase of £1.74 per month.

Tomorrow, the Pumpkin Patch returns to the Market Place with 400 FREE pumpkins.
Open from 10am, you can come and choose your special pumpkin to take home and carve, ready for the spooky celebrations.
Pumpkins will be available on a first come, first served basis, so make sure to head down early to avoid disappointment.
