Road Sweeping

We have 2 road sweepers which work on zones across the town, one larger one named ‘Sweep Caroline’ and one smaller one recently named ‘Sweeping Beauty.’

Litter Collection

There are over 450 litter and recycling bins in Chippenham which the Environmental Services Team empty on a regular basis.

The following areas are checked and emptied as necessary daily:

-Town Centre and immediate side streets
-Car Parks
-John Coles Park
-Monkton Park
-Play Areas
-All other litter bins under the responsibility of Chippenham Town Council are checked and emptied as necessary a minimum of twice per week either on a Monday or Tuesday and Thursday or Friday.

The Environmental Services Team litter pick within the Chippenham boundary on a rotational basis of all housing estates. The schedule for these changes depends on available resources and the priority of work.

If you cannot find a bin to place your rubbish in, please take it home where possible. Please do not use public rubbish bins for the disposal of domestic or commercial rubbish. Should you find a bin to be overflowing please do not dispose of your litter on the floor adjacent to the bin.
