Our friend and colleague Tracy Howell

9th October 2020 / News archive

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that our colleague Tracy Howell has passed away. This is very shocking and upsetting news, and our thoughts and condolences go immediately to Tracy’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

Tracy was our Market and Compliance Manager since July 2019 and before that she managed our Customer Services team at the Town Hall for 2 years.

Tracy was a valued member of the staff team at Chippenham Town Council, she was always willing and often stepped in to help others. Over the last year Tracy did a brilliant job of developing the Charter Market to a busy, bustling and atmospheric street market with a range of stalls and traders. Her quick wit made her friends easily as she enjoyed trader banter in the High Street. She had worked very hard to gain a new qualification (NEBOSH – National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) to support her new role and was delighted that she passed first time.

We have many highlights of working with Tracy, but one of the best must be the Family Fun Day in 2018 which Tracy organised with a beach theme. The event was our most successful family fun day with donkey rides, sandpits and Punch and Judy, something for all the family to enjoy.

Tracy will be greatly missed by her colleagues, our Councillors and all those who worked with her.
