MORE INFO

Join Exhibitions & Collections Officer Alan Fuller for a talk on Robin Tanner & the Arts and Crafts movement.

Robin Tanner was a firm believer in the much-repeated quote of William Morris; ‘have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful’. Yet he also admired and tried to emulate the aspects of social reform and activism that underpinned the Arts and Crafts movement.

In this talk Alan Fuller, curator of the exhibition ‘Robin Tanner: from Goldsmiths to the Great Depression’, will explore some of the links between Robin Tanner and the Arts and Crafts movement. Including the pioneers Robin Tanner admired from the previous century, through to his contemporaries continuing and updating the movement in the interwar years.

With an opportunity to view the free exhibition ‘Robin Tanner: from Goldsmiths to the Great Depression’ between 4pm & 6pm, before the talk.
