Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day flag flown at the Town Hall which reads 'Armed Forces Day, show your support' in blue and red writing on a white flag

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a valued morale boost for the troops and their families. The day takes place on the last Saturday of June each year.

On Armed Forces Day we have a flag-raising ceremony and two-minute silence to recognise those who make up the Armed Forces community. We invite representatives from the surrounding military units: 9 Reg RLC, 10 Signal Regiment, 21 Signal Regiment, 5 Reme, 8 Reme and MOD Corsham.
