Chippenham’s town centre CCTV cameras have been upgraded with seven new cameras installed and the imagery is now transmitted wirelessly to achieve a higher picture quality. Chippenham Town Council continue to work with partner agencies to ensure the cameras act as a deterrent to anti-social behaviour and support the Council in providing clear and effective CCTV images which can used for evidential purposes. Wiltshire Police based in Chippenham will have remote access to the CCTV coverage retrieved around the town, whilst Wiltshire Council Area Board will be contributing towards a new camera solution in Bath Road car park in the near future. The residents of Chippenham will soon see new signage around the town reminding the public that CCTV is in operation.
