The station opened on 31 May 1841. Visitors to the virtual exhibition will enjoy a journey through the station’s history with themes including the changing face of the station, trains over the years and the Calne branch line. The group hope to follow this exhibition with an in person event later in the year.

Friends of Chippenham Station (FoCS), formed in August 2019, is a welcoming community rail group of volunteers with differing interests in Chippenham Station. The station is a gateway to the town as well as a hub for sustainable transport. Members receive newsletters with station news and details of current projects. All are welcome, email gail-focs@transwilts.org or contact the group’s Facebook page.
