CCTV volunteers

Chippenham Town Council owns, manages and monitors the Town Centre’s CCTV cameras. The aim of using CCTV is to ensure areas of Chippenham are safe for the general public and act as a deterrent to criminal and anti-social behaviour, providing recorded surveillance and evidence for court proceedings.

We are recruiting for a new team of volunteers to support the regular monitoring of the CCTV system and make a valuable contribution to the safety of our town.

The role will include:
• Monitoring the town’s CCTV cameras from an office based in Chippenham   Town Centre
• Providing real time information by radio to security partners
• Liasing with the local police to capture evidential imagery
• Adhering to data protection legislation
