Football Photos
Wet, wet, wet!!!
These photos were taken on Dec 6th 2007. The ponds are as you
can see full, and hence this slows the draining process of the
pitches, because the water backs up...but after checking the
pitches at 12pm Friday the pitches have drained very well and all
was looking good for the weekend ahead.
North Wilts football festival October 2007
On October 18th 2007 Stanley Park sports ground supported a year
3-4 Football tournament in conjunction with NWDC. Over 20
schools/Teams entered and some great football was on show, with the
main theme being "Let Them Play". Special thanks needs to go to
Alex Muse and his sports development team for putting on the event,
the ground staff at the park for the fantastic pitches and also the
sixth formers who helped supervise the pitches while games went
ahead. Good support from parents and teachers just added to a great
afternoon of football, and show that Wiltshire has a bright future
in sport, especially football. Well done to St Marys and Monkton
Park who reached the play off final in which St Marts won after
extra time 2-1.
Wiltshire youth games 2007
Stanley Park was one of 3 venues to host the Youth Games in June
2007. Sports included were Tag Rugby, Cricket, Girls Football and
Sen Football. Special thanks needs to go to Louise, Jo and all
involved with planning and running the event, which was a huge
success, and you will see from the photos the occasional spurts of
bad weather didn't effect the enjoyment of the young participants.
THANK YOU TO ALL INVOLVED.
Give us back our game
June 16th 1pm - 4pm. Over 40 Children turned up to take part in
this fantastic Day. The rain visited briefly, but didn't effect the
childrens enthusiasum. Touches were recorded in a variety of games
and as many as 88 touches were had by 1 player in a 5 minute
period. Scores were not recorded, and the children went home with
memories of how many goals they scored and how much fun they had.
It was a great afternoon of football. A huge thanks needs to go to
Chippenham Town Youth U8, Derry Hill Youth U8 and Malmesbury Youth
U6 & U8 for bringing their youth teams and all the other boys
who attended from other clubs and schemes. Thank you to Terry
McCosh, Rob Stephens, Imman Rees, Jamie Moss, Dave Buckley, Alan
Crocker, Pat Darcy and Alex Muse for making the Day such a huge
success. All players went home with a certificate and a medal and
most importantly a smile. Positive comments all round from the
Parents with the biggest theme being,"Good to see the games being
played without any Adult influences or control". Watch this space
for the next GUBOG event.
Give us back our game hits the schools
On June 15th 2007, GUBOG hit two local primary schools to launch
this great scheme, Kingslodge & St Pauls. Over 120 Boys and
Girls took part in the Lunch and After school sessions. Alex Muse
& Pete Hussey would like to thank the Schools, Mr Buckley &
Mrs Ratcliffe and for their support in a scheme which is now not
only nationwide but has stretched across the globe. "Let Children
Play, and let the game be the Teacher" Feedback from the pupils
involved has been very positive and have all said how much they
enjoyed the games and were allowed just to play. While at the
Schools no pupils approached the Pitch Supervisors to say if they
had won or lost, they were only telling us how many goals they had
scored, while having a big smile on their face! On average in a 4
to 5 minute game, each child touched the ball 46 times.

a great weekend of enjoyable football.
FC Chippenham youth football tournament 2007
On the weekend of May 19th-20th 2007, Stanley Park hosted the
Annual FC Chippenham Youth 6v6 Football Tournament. Over 2000 boys
and girls took part, with over 250+ teams participating from all
over the area, some teams coming all the way from Wales. The FCCY
Tournament is known for being a well run event, hence the high
entry levels. A lot of thanks and credit needs to go to the Club
with special thanks to those who helped on the day(s), but also to
those who gave up a days work on Friday 18th to help set the site
up. The weather held good which was a bonus, and just added to
another very successful weekend, WELL DONE FCCY!!
"E on" sponsored, NWDC primary school football festival
NWDC held a "E ON" sponsored FA Cup 6v6 Schools Day on April
24th 2007. 35 Teams entered from Wiltshire Primary Schools in the
area, with in excess of 280 Children taking part, Boys & Girls.

NWSDO, who organised and planned the event in co-ordination with
CTC. Also a big thank you to "Eon" for sponsoring the event, who
with WCFA helped provide the rewards for all involved.
Easter funweek
The weather was great for our 3rd FITC Funweek in the April
Holidays. All the children who took part went home with a bag of
goodies, which included, a certificate, marker cones, water bottle,
leather football and Bungee ball. As you will see from the pictures
the kids had a fantastic time and were all very well behaved.

snow came, but only stayed for the day.
Wiltshire cross country trials - at Stanley Park
Stanley Park Sports Ground was proud to hold the Wiltshire
Athletics Cross Country Trials on the 9th December 2006, in which
250+ Young & Old Athletes took part. It didn't effect the
Football on the day because the organisers planned their course
around the 47 acres available to them. It was a well run event, and
alot of Credit needs to go to Derek who did most of the
planning.
