Minutes of a meeting of the Planning and Environment Committee held at the Town Hall, High Street, Chippenham on Thursday 03 April 2008 at 7.00pm.

PRESENT: Councillor WA Wood (in the Chair)
Councillors Mrs SA Gibson, Mrs SE Oakes, JA Phillips, DLB Powell, RHP Purdon, JR Scragg, Mrs ME Stickland, Ms S Veitch and Ms FK Wilson.

  1. APOLOGIES

    There were apologies for absence from Councillors ACG Noblet and Mrs NM Phillips.

  2. DECLARATION OF INTEREST

    No declaration of interest as defined by the Code of Conduct in the current approved Standing Orders was received.

  3. MINUTES

    The Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 13 March 2008 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

  4. MATTERS ARISING

    There were no Matters Arising not covered elsewhere on the Agenda.

    There were no Chairman's Announcements.

    There were no written or verbal questions from the public.

  7. WILTSHIRE WAYFARER - RIGHTS OF WAY NEWSLETTER

    A letter was received from the Rights of Way Assistant, Wiltshire County Council regarding the preferred format for receiving future copies of the above (copy in Minute Book).

    RESOLVED that Wiltshire County Council be requested to send copies of the Wiltshire Wayfarer to the Town Council by post.

  8. PROPOSED TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES/TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
    1. Temporary Closure of A420 Marshfield Road (part)/A420 Bristol Road (part), Chippenham

      It was noted that the above would be closed from its junction with Audley Road/Park Lane in a north westerly direction to its junction with Hardenhuish Lane in order for the Highway Authority to resurface the carriageway. This Order comes into force on 07 April 2008 and it is anticipated that the work will take approximately 12 days to complete.

    2. The County of Wiltshire (District of North Wiltshire) (Civil Parking Enforcement) Amendment Order 2008

      A letter and Orders were received from the Local Transport & Development Manager, Wiltshire County Council regarding the introduction of the Traffic Management Act 2004 on 31 March 2008 enabling the operation of civil parking enforcement (copy in Minute Book).

      RESOLVED that (1) and (2) above be noted.

  9. PROPOSED TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES/TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

    There were no applications for consideration.

  10. CONSULTATION UNDER LICENSING ACT 2003/PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT LICENCES

    There were no applications for consideration.
