Notice is hereby given that from Monday 07 July 2008 to Friday 01 August 2008, Monday to Friday inclusive, between the hours of 10.00am and noon and again between 2.30pm and 4.30pm, any person interested may inspect and make copies of the accounts of Chippenham Town Council for the year ended 31 March 2008 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto.
The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the offices of Chippenham Town Council, at the Town Hall, High Street, Chippenham, Wiltshire. SN15 3ER (01249 446699)
Notice is also given that on or after Monday 04 August 2008 until the completion of the audit, the Auditor, at the request of a Local Government elector for the area to which the accounts relate will give the elector or his representative an opportunity to question him about the accounts and that any such elector or his representative may attend before the Auditor and make objections as to any matter in respect of which the Auditor could take action under Section 17 or 18 of the Audit Commission Act 1998 (namely an unlawful item of account, failure to bring a sum into account, or a loss or deficiency caused by willful misconduct) or could make a report in the public interest under Section 8 of the above Act.
Questions may be received at the offices of Chippenham Town Council by arrangement with the Council's external auditors, Messrs Mazars, Clifton Down House, Beaufort Buildings, Clifton Down, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 4AN (Tel: 0117 973 4481) to whom requests for the purpose should be addressed. No objection may be made unless the Auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and its grounds. A copy of any such notice must be sent to the Town Clerk at the address given below.

Annual Town Meeting Of Chippenham will take place on Wednesday 30 April 2008 at the Town Hall, High Street, Chippenham to which Members of the Public who are resident in Chippenham are welcome to attend.
The meeting will commence at 7:00pm.
