We have two new Defibrillators now installed and ready to use. One is located at Stanley Park Sports Ground on the front of the building and the other is located at John Coles Park on the front of the toilet block.

Cllr Teresa Hutton, Chair of the Amenities, Culture and Leisure Committee said;
“These Defibrillators offer a lifesaving facility. In an emergency situation call 999 and quote the location code which is shown on the front of the casing and it will be unlocked immediately.”

A defibrillator is a computerised medical device that delivers an electrical current through the chest which aims to shock the heart back into a normal rhythm allowing it to pump again. Rapid response using automated technology can significantly improve the quality of life of a survivor, as the longer the brain is starved of oxygen, the more damage can occur.
