Fees & Charges - 2009/10

londonrd4 The fees, payments and sums set out below apply where the person to be interred is, or in respect of whom the right is granted is, or before his/her death was, an inhabitant or parishioner of the Town Council.

All fees, payments and sums due, at any time, for non-parishioners are doubled, except where the Exclusive Right of Burial in the grave or vault was acquired at the single fee.

However, in special circumstances the Town Clerk (upon receipt of an application in writing) may waive the rule for double fees to be paid in respect of the interment of a former inhabitant or parishioner of Chippenham. The determining of any such application shall be entirely at the discretion of the Town Clerk.

Please note that all fees for burials at weekends, Bank Holidays or out of normal hours (subject to staff availability) are doubled.

Exclusive Rights of Burial in Earthen Grave

a. For the exclusive right of burial for a term of 99 years:

Where the interment is that of a still-born child or a child whose age at the time of death did not exceed 12 months.	No Charge
Where the interment is that of a child whose age at the time of death exceeded 12 months but did not exceed 12 years.	£133.00
For the body of a person exceeding 12 years in a single grave space.	£214.00
For the body of a person exceeding 12 years in a double grave space.	£460.00
Exclusive right of burial for a period of 99 years, of cremated remains in a grave space.	£194.00

b. Interments for the interment in a grave or vault:

Of the body of a still-born child or a child whose age at the time of death did not exceed 12 months.	No Charge
Of the body of a child whose age at the time of death exceeded 12 months, but did not exceed 12 years.	£133.00
Of the body of a person whose age at the time of death exceeded 12 years.	£204.00
Interment of cremated remains in a grave in respect of which an exclusive right of burial has been granted.	£133.00

c. Walled graves & vaults

For the right to construct, and for the exclusive right of burial in a walled grave or vault for a period of 99 years:

A single grave space. Includes the cost of digging and sealing.	£408.00
A double grave space. Includes the cost of digging and sealing.	£816.00
To re-open a grave for the purpose of further interments involving the removal and/or replacement of concrete seal (incl. of materials).	£204.00

d. Memorials (inclusive of VAT)

A headstone not exceeding 3ft in height x 2ft 3" in width, together with a base plate not exceeding 2 ft 6"	£143.00
Any vase not exceeding 12" in any dimension and to be fixed to the memorial.	£75.00
Re-erection and replacement of memorials.	£120.00
Additional inscription and or photo plaque.	£100.00
