Excellent news for Stanley Park Sports Ground
Stanley Park Sports Ground, owned by Chippenham Town Council, has recently been reviewed by the Football Foundation and has retained its accreditation score of Excellent for the facility and the services and activities it provides. The Football Foundation complete this survey every 2 years and are delighted with the standard of service and facilities which Stanley Park provide.
The Football Foundation is the UK’s largest sports’ charity. Funded by the Premier League, The Football Association and the Government, the Foundation directs £60m every year into grassroots sport. The Foundation receives money from the very top of the professional game and also from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport through Sport England. It then uses this money to leverage even more partnership funding, to deliver a programme of new and improved community sports facilities in towns and cities across the country.
Issie Collins, Grant Manager, The Football Foundation said;
“The site continues to be an excellent football facility serving the local community football clubs, local schools, two educational establishments and a professional club. The two key partner Clubs; FC Chippenham Youth FC and Chippenham Town Youth remain the key clubs on the site with priority bookings on the 3G pitch and ongoing support and advice. The usage by Forest Green Rovers has provided valuable additional funds to the site. The site provides football for all ages with a clear player pathway in place. This is an example of an exceptional facility which has continued to grow and develop since it first opened as purely a grass pitch site.”
Sandie Webb, Leader of Chippenham Town Council said;
“This really is excellent news for Stanley Park, and for all the people who visit the facility. Chippenham Town Council is very proud of the hard work that goes in to keeping Stanley Park operating at such a high standard.”
