Open Day at The Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre Cocklebury Road Chippenham,  10 am - 4pm - Free entry

Meet the Middle Ages...

This year we will be having a medieval theme:

  • Watch broadsword demonstrations and join the knights for sword training
  • Visit the Hedge Witch to cure all your ills and find out about the hard life of a pox-ridden peasant
  • See our Medieval archives, including a document with the ancient seal of Richard the Lionheart
  • Investigate Wiltshire's medieval castles with our Archaeologists
  • Discover how armour is conserved today and make your own helmet
  • Fun activities for all the family
  • Children are inivted to cme along in medieval costume for a chance to win a prize for best costume
