Statement from Chippenham Town Council

Chippenham Town Council are following and responding to the latest guidance on from Government announced on 16 March and we are taking the following measures to safeguard our staff and visitors:

Town Hall Customer Services, Chippenham Museum, Yelde Hall, Neeld Community & Arts Centre and Stanley Park Sports Ground
All of these venues are closed with immediate effect for a 12 week period until 15 June 2020.
If you have bought a ticket to an event or show in this period, we will be in touch to offer you a refund where relevant, we would welcome your patience during this time. We are working hard to arrange alternative dates for events where possible. All external hire events have been cancelled during this time.

Committee and Full Council meetings
Full Council meetings, Standing Committee meeting and Sub-Committee meetings have all been suspended until further notice.

John Coles Park and all play areas and MUGA sites
These will all be closed from Tuesday 24 March 2020.

Friday & Saturday Market
The market has been suspended until further notice.

Events which have been postponed or cancelled:
VE 75 Day celebration Friday 8 May 2020 – postponed
Family Fun Day Sunday 14 June 2020 – cancelled
Armed Forces Day 28 June 2020 – cancelled


The following will remain open:

London Road Cemetery
The cemetery will remain open until we receive further guidance that it should close.

Environmental Services
Litter collection, street cleansing, grass cutting and Grounds maintenance will continue.

We will be reviewing the situation closely, following Government advice and we will keep you informed of when we can open our venues and facilities. Please follow are social media pages and take a look at our website for further updates.
