Outdoor Play Areas
New government guidance released on 26 June states how to open outdoor play areas safely.

We want to be able to open outdoor play areas but we must put our residents’ safety first. Taking this new guidance into consideration, it is not safe to for us to manage our 13 outdoor play areas across Chippenham with our current resources. We would be required to employ an additional 13 members of staff who would need to ensure the following:
– The play equipment is cleaned multiple times per day and ask each family to clean all of the equipment they come in contact with using their own cleaning materials
– To control the amount of people in each play area at any one time, all day every day possibly using a booking system to allocate time slots
– Ensure social distancing within the play area for example 1 metre plus on the swings or climbing equipment and to ask each family to only allow one adult per family into the play area
– To supply more litter collection bins and extra litter removal services
We encourage you to read the government guidance which you can access HERE

Multi Use Games Areas
All of our Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs) at John Coles Park, Pewsham Park, Little Battens and Monkton Park opened on Monday 29 June to enable football and basketball to take place. We have removed the two seating areas in John Coles Park to prevent groups gathering.
