Chippenham Street Pastors begin daytime work

Chippenham Town Council support Chippenham Street Pastors as they begin work in the daytime

Chippenham Street Pastors have recently received a Community Grant from Chippenham Town Council which will help them to continue the great work they do in Chippenham at night. Some of the funding will help to purchase supplies such as flip flops, sweets and bottles of water which are handed out to members of the public who are out enjoying the nightlife in Chippenham.

From Chippenham Street Pastors, Michael Weeks said;
“Chippenham Street Pastors are always grateful and thankful for the continued support of Chippenham Town Council. The grant we received will help us to continue to care, listen and help everyone in the town centre on a Saturday night.”

Chippenham Street Pastors are now looking for volunteers to join the team to offer support to people in the Town Centre of Chippenham during the daytime. Their intention is to be a welcoming presence to the local community, have time for a conversation over a cup of tea and offer support if it is needed.

From Chippenham Street Pastors, Michael Weeks said;
“With the support of the Town Council and the Police we want to set up a new team of volunteers who will be trained to go out into the Town Centre on market days when the town is potentially at its busiest. We will be there to care, listen and help anyone who may need some support.”

If you are interested in becoming a street pastor in Chippenham, you need to be a committed Christian and over 18 with no upper age limit. There is a new training course starting in January for people who would to become street pastors in Chippenham, whether it be during the day or night time.
