Working from home

14th April 2020 / News archive

Over the last few weeks, here at Chippenham Town Council, like many others, we have found new ways of working and communicating with each other to ensure our work continues effectively.
We thought we would share some photos and information on what we are doing with our #WorkingFromHomeLife

Our Corporate Management Team are leading from the front, making strategic development decisions, managing operational details & supporting their teams from home.

Well done to our Chief Executive who’s also just moved house!

Our Corporate Support Officer is busy organising our senior management team, arranging meetings and putting new processes in place to ensure we are working efficiently and effectively.

Our Democratic Services Manager is leading her team from home, keeping busy with clarifying how the democratic process happens remotely & putting new processes in place. Also they’re engaging with our new Youth Council and planning for future Civic Events.

It’s a busy time for the finance team led by our Finance Manager as they complete the financial year end.
They’re also working on:
Purchase ledger
Reconciling budget, bank accounts, income/expenditure and  balance sheets
…and new ways to do this remotely

Our Head of Venues for Neeld Community & Arts Centre and our Town Hall is busy re-scheduling shows, programming new shows for 2021, liaising with customers about hiring our rooms for parties & events.
We are still welcoming National Blood Service as an essential service monthly.

The team at our Chippenham Museum are working on future event plans, the big summer exhibition and progamming art exhibitions for next year, sourcing new stock for the shop, producing worksheets and activity packs to download from our website AND a new virtual cafe for our volunteers!

Our team at Stanley Park Sports Ground are working on site but strictly following social distancing guidelines. They’re keen to maintain the very high standards of the pitches, so grounds maintenance is continuing. There will also be some internal maintenance taking place

Our Planning Officer is busy co-ordinating work for the Chippenham Neighbourhood Plan. The 7 topic groups for continue to gather evidence to draft their policy topics.

Our Environmental Services team are mostly working as usual to maintain essential standards for our town:
Grounds maintenance, safety checks, grass cutting, litter picking and bin emptying.
London Rd Cemetery & all allotments are open, albeit with social distancing instructions.
